Trace Level Total Sulphur Analysis in Ethanol Blends
Apr 28 2016
TSHR International (the Netherlands) developed a new application note for the analysis of Total Sulphur in ethanol blends based on high temperature combustion with UV-Fluorescence detection in compliance with ASTM D5453.
The TSHR TS 7000 model was used for the fully automated sample introduction, oxidative combustion and detection of the total sulphur content in a range of reference ethanol samples at low ppm total sulphur. The samples results were compared with the reference data from the ASTM Cross Check program and shows a complete fit within the reference concentrations and standard deviation.
The performance data obtained with the TS 7000 model analyser gives RSD’s below 2% based on 4 replicates. The Athena software for analyser operation, with method templates, generate also the calibration used for determine the total sulphur content in the samples.
The used TSHR liquids autosampler, HR 7000 model, with maximum 121 positions for 2 mL vials drives the productivity and repeatability of the data as presented in the application note.
A copy of the application note and further product information of the TSHR range of Combustion Elemental Analyzers can be obtained through sales@tshrinternational.com
