US upstream organisation invests $1.7million on gas detection and lone worker safety technology

A Houston-based upstream energy company has recently invested an additional $1,7 million to the initial $2,7 million contract they awarded to Blackline Safety for over 800 of their highly advanced G7c cloud-connected wearable safety devices, 75 G7 Docks and 40 EXO cloud-connected area monitors.

While the initial contract was being fulfilled, Blackline’s clients asked for a demo of the real-time alert response service. The Blackline representative simply pulled the SOS latch and an agent responded in a matter of seconds. The customer decided very quickly that this service, with its unique two-way voice and real-time monitoring capabilities, would advance the safety of their personnel to unprecedented levels.

Blackline developed their G7 personal gas detectors and EXO area gas monitors for use in the harshest environments. These award-winning devices feature location-enabled technology and give users extra layers of protection to ensure there is always a critical lifeline in the event and duration of an emergency. Blackline also provide optional features including an SOS emergency latch, real-time monitoring, and two-way voice communication, these gas detectors ensure that personnel can work confident in the knowledge that they are safe, protected and getting home at the end of their shifts.

“Nothing can replace a real voice responding when there’s an incident. When seconds and minutes can make the difference between life and death, real-time response and two-way voice let your workers know that someone is looking out for them and will stay with them until help arrives,” commented Glen Silver, Blackline Safety’s Vice President of Sales for North America.
