Unique Flow Alarm Technology Secures Order for Combustion Analyser
Jul 24 2014
Servomex (UK) continues to win new converts to its acclaimed SERVOTOUGH FluegasExact (2700) high performance combustion gas analyser.
Gasco, the natural gas processing company of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group responsible for processing onshore natural gas and associated gas from onshore oil production, is benefitting from the Fluegas Exact’s ability to deliver the safest, most accurate and reliable measurements under the harshest conditions.
Realising the benefits offered by the FluegasExact’s internal flow alarm and extra CO cell, enabling the simultaneous measurement of carbon monoxide (CO) and oxygen (O2), Gasco has installed two SERVOTOUGH FluegasExact (2700) analysers.
“As the FluegasExact enables a highly reliable measurement of O2 and CO, Gasco will have far more control of their combustion gas process than with their current analysers, enabling a far more efficient burn,” says Jan Hordijk, Sales and Marketing Manager, Servomex Middle East.
The FluegasExact’s exceptional measurement sensor capability is augmented by Servomex’s advanced Flowcube flow sensor technology. Delivering an industry first by enabling true system diagnostics of the sample flow, Flowcube gives total assurance that the measurement is valid and responding within specification. Placed in-line with the measurement sensors, Flowcube allows user-defined alarm levels to be set with confidence, either to enhance preventative maintenance or to act as a flow failure alarm output.
Flowcube technology therefore enables operators to implement a preventative rather than reactive maintenance agenda for analyser flow control, avoiding costly plant downtime by allowing the scheduling of routine safety checks and sample system maintenance – a particularly useful function where operations are being run with minimum personnel on-site.
“This is a great success for the Servomex Middle East. It is the first time we have won an order from Gasco and we are confident it will open the door to other companies in the ADNOC Group,” says Jan.
Customer-designed for high temperature processes up to 1750°C (3182°F), the FluegasExact is ideal for use in extreme heated environments. This resilience makes it the analyser of choice for controlling a wide range of combustion processes, including use in process heaters, utility boilers, thermal crackers, incinerators and furnaces.
