Analysis of Sulfur Components in Various Liquid Petroleum Gases: Application Note
Bruker has developed a two-channel configuration for the low level analysis of sulfur containing compounds in liquid petroleum gases (LPG). LPG analysis is challenging as the system has to be inert and the column used must be able to separate the component of interest. In place of a standard Flame Photmetric detector (FPD), this system utilizes dual Pulsed Flame Photometric detectors (PFPD) to greatly reduce the sulfur signal in the presence of high hydrocarbon levels. A micro-gasifier in front of the injection valves enables the direct coupling of an LPG stream to the GC. The complete sample path is UltiMetalTM deactivated, ensuring an inert system preventing adsorption of sulfur components for a trouble free analysis. The two different columns, each equipped with a PFPD detector, ensure maximum flexibility and excellent separation, independent of the bulk component. The system demonstrated high repeatability for the analysis of low level sulfur-containing components.

Refinery Gas Analysis with the Bruker Rapid RGA Analyzer: Application Note
Bruker’s Refinery Gas Analyzers (RGA) have proved to be perfectly suited for the analysis of refinery gases from different sources. The source and composition of refinery gases varies considerably. Typical sources include atmospheric or Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC), ethylene and propylene production, fuel gas, stack gas and off gas from desulfurization. Measuring gas composition precisely and accurately is a significant challenge in today’s refinery operations.
Bruker’s Rapid RGA Analyzer is based on a 450-GC gas chromatograph and consists of three independent analytical channels, which are connected in series. With relative standard deviations of 0.3% and lower, the Bruker Rapid RGA Analyzer proved perfectly suited for the analysis of refinery gases, delivering superior, reliable results for a wide range of sources and analysis throughput requirements.
