Benefit from 140 Years of Experience in Flash Point Testing
Apr 17 2014
Choose a flash point tester from the source, the place where flash point testers were actually invented and first introduced to the market 140 years ago – and in all this time, the innovative thinking and further development in flammability testing never stopped.
Mr. Berthold Pensky developed the first closed cup flash point tester and set a milestone for the production of flash point testers based on quality and precision. Aligned to the requirements of various industrial branches, the instruments from Berlin were able to meet a worldwide demand.
Today Anton Paar (Austria) offers suitable flash point testers for every relevant measuring task. Closed-cup instruments based on the Pensky-Martens methods are suitable for expected flash points in the range from 40 °C to 400 °C (-104 °F to 752 °F).
The PMA 5 Pensky-Martens flash point tester is the standardised solution for both biodiesel and biodiesel-blended fuels, along with distillate fuels like diesel, heating oil and kerosene, as well as potentially flammable liquids like lubricating oils. PMA 5 is easy to use and highly versatile. For maximum safety, the instrument comes with an integrated fire extinguishing device that can be automatically controlled or released manually. Flames that might occur outside the cup are extinguished by nitrogen or carbon dioxide gas.
Safety is a matter of experience – that’s why you can count on flash point testers from Anton Paar.
