Oxford Instruments (UK) provides market leading, simple, robust, easy to use, field proven analytical solutions for sulphur analysis; for crude oil extraction, refineries, terminals, independent testing houses, shipping, customs and excise and even at point of retail. Oxford Instruments has a range of analysers for measuring sulphur in oil at every point it is needed along the supply chain, and over 40 years of experience.
Starting with the Energy Dispersive XRF (EDXRF) Lab-X3500 which is a compact bench-top analyser that can be used in the lab, in the field, in a mobile laboratory, in fact where ever you need on site analysis, operated by production staff and with full conformance to ASTM D4294. The EDXRF X-Supreme8000 offers multi-sample analysis for “ultra low sulphur” (<10ppm) up to 5% using just one calibration line for all sample matrix types. In addition, the X-Supreme8000 has the flexibility of additional elements such as nickel vanadium in fuel oils; manganese in gasoline, etc.
The Wavelength Dispersive XRF MDX1000 offers simultaneous elemental analysis conforming to ASTM D2622. For sulphur in oil, reliability is achieved through employing two fixed monochromators; thereby avoiding any moving parts. All of the above instruments are world renowned for long term reliability and ease of use. This is achieved through close attention to detail on high quality design and manufacture learned over many years. For example one major component is the X-ray tube manufactured by Oxford Instruments in the US and used in their EDXRF instruments. The above instruments can help improve compliance and the accuracy of analytical results.
As well as advanced technology systems for space, Oxford Instruments Industrial Analysis offers a range of Analytical Instruments designed for demanding quality control applications. From materials analysis to thickness gauging, the Industrial Analysis products incorporate the latest in available technology, coupled with over 50 years of experience in designing, producing and supporting world class instruments. X-MET handheld X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysers and the expanded range of Optical Emission Spectrometers (OES) are specifically designed for positive material identification, alloy analysis and the determination of hazardous materials for RoHS compliance. The OES systems comprise: Foundry-Master Pro, Foundry-Master Compact and UV, together with a mobile range including Pmi-Master Pro, Test Master Pro and the ARC-MET8000.
Lab-X, Twin-X and MDX1000 XRF spectrometers span the price/performance range for routine chemical analysis. From Sulphur in petroleum products to the analysis of limestone, Oxford Instruments can match the correct spectrometer to the consumers needs, as the range is extremely broad. For thickness gauging applications they offer handheld magnetic and eddy current gauges to full function, high performance XR systems. Our X-Strata980 and CMI900 systems provide world-class performance for coating thickness measurement.
