New process analyser for real-time VOC leak detection in clean or dirty water

KECO has announced the launch of the Model 204 PermaStream™ Process Analyzer. This innovative product provides real-time measurement of volatile organic compound (VOC) leaks in clean or dirty water, offering a more economical and accurate solution compared to lab analysers prone to analytical errors.

The KECO 204 analyser precisely measures total VOCs including aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, avoiding the false high readings or high alarms associated with UV fluorescence methods. The PermaStream membrane technology creates an ultra-clean sample for the VOC sensor, ensuring a long life of 5 to 10 years without costly consumables.

The analyser features a full-colour touch-screen HMI system for easy monitoring, as well as remote and web-based monitoring options. The sensor quantifies and displays values through a 4-20mA output loop, RS-485, TCP/IP Ethernet, and Modbus, providing better control over operations.

This low-maintenance, solid-state analyser is ideal for use in a variety of industries, including chemical, environmental, gas processing, refinery, and wastewater treatment. It can be used to monitor VOCs in holding ponds, cooling tower water, produced water, storm runoff water, building water discharge, effluent water, boiler condensate, engine cooling water, and wastewater.

In one project, the Model 204 Hydrocarbons in Water Analyzer helped a US ethylene plant save thousands of dollars by detecting hydrocarbon leaks early in the cooling water of heat exchangers/cooling towers. With its high uptime and minimal maintenance requirements, the analyser can pay for itself in a matter of weeks or months in many applications.

The Model 204 PermaStream™ Process Analyzer complies with Division 2 and Zone 2 hazardous area installations, offering typical accuracy and repeatability at better than 3% of the full-scale range. With no moving parts or routine calibration required, this analyser offers reliable performance and peace of mind.
