Flash Point
10 Position Flash Point Tester
Apr 17 2015
With the ERAFLASH S10 eralytics (Austria) expands its unrivalled flash point tester series by adding an auto-sampler unit for unattended flash point measurements of up to ten samples. With its patented PBT Peltier Boost TechnologyTM a temperature range of -25°C to 420°C can be covered with a single analyser at unmatched speed. Measurements according to latest standards (e.g. ASTM D7094) just need 2 mL of sample, making it the ideal flash point tester even for expensive products. Additionally, its continuously closed cup design provides maximum safety compared to common instruments as no open flames or glowing wires are present. ERAFLASH S10 is not only the first 10 position flash point apparatus but it is also the only flash point tester that covers all sample cups with a lid to prevent evaporation losses and contaminations of the samples prior to the measurement.
An ASTM interlaboratory comparison study proved that no statistical bias between the ASTM D7094 and D93 (Pensky Martens) standards exists. In addition it showed that the reproducibility and repeatability of Pensky Martens analysers is significantly higher for various samples than stated by ASTM D93. Therefore ASTM D7094 was accepted for fuel specification testing of Diesel fuel and Biodiesel blends according to ASTM D975 & D7476. It is also applicable for specifications according to ASTM D396, D2880 and D3699.
Measurement applications for ERAFLASH S10 range from product specifications to transport classifications. Used oils can be analysed for fuel dilution resulting in a decrease of its flashpoint. The small sample volumes that need to be handled make ERAFLASH S10 the ideal flash point tester for hazardous waste samples as well as flavors, fragrances, paints and varnishes. Its small sample cups are much easier to clean than the big 70 ml cups of D93 simplifying the handling of high viscous samples such as bitumen or asphalt.
ERAFLASH S10 is typically operated as a stand-alone analyser via its touchscreen. Additionally it is possible to connect a QR- / barcode reader to ease sample ID input. A connected printer can directly output the measurement results of all ten samples after the measurement. Direct communication with LIMS and remote control over a network connection is possible too. With a simple click the measurement results can be exported to an USB stick in MS Excel spreadsheet format.
