Reliable, Accurate and Fast Flash Point Process Measurement
Jul 16 2015
Flash point temperature is an important quality property for processes within the oil refining sector. Flash point temperature indicates the lowest temperature at which the application of an ignition source causes the vapour of a sample to ignite under specified conditions of test.
BARTEC BENKE’s (Germany) FPA-4 Flash Point Process Analyser remains an unsurpassed solution to continuously monitor the flash points of kerosene, diesel and other low sulphur refinery products. BARTEC BENKE came up with an improved concept to extend the measuring range up to 180°C (356°F). The catalytic oxidation technique greatly reduces maintenance requirements by eliminating carbonisation of the samples on the cell (coking). Its significantly shortened lag time allows pipeline operators to reduce trans-blends to a minimum.
The FPA-4 offers great peace of mind by including overflow protection and an integrated failure diagnosis and self-monitoring system. This versatile unit has multi-stream capability and can create a validation report to meet quality assurance purposes. The FPA-4 also features programmable digital and analogue I/O and interfaces with bidirectional Modbus (RTU or TCP/IP) and remote access via Ethernet (VDSL or FOC is).
