The DMA: Always Superior
Feb 20 2024
Anton Paar DMA density meters have always been superior. Now, Anton Paar is once again surpassing the limits of digital density measurement: DMA 4101/4501/5001 provides a new always-superior level of user confidence and previously unattainable comfort. New features assure complete confidence in the sample filling and measurement process. Users know it is always correctly performed and can therefore have complete confidence in the outstanding quality of the measurement results.
FillingCheckTM (patent application filed) automatically detects filling errors or gas bubbles in the filled-in sample. It alerts the operator to potential measurement deviations and documents any incidents.
U-ViewTM displays live images of the oscillating U-tube sensor and the entire filled-in sample. Potential problems with the sample can be reliably identified in real-time or during later review of the images automatically stored in the memory. This makes DMA 4101/4501/5001 instruments the first density meters to allow later verification of the results particularly with the use of automatic sampling systems.
ThermoBalanceTM eliminates the need for multi-temperature calibrations and allows fast, accurate measurements across the entire temperature range over extended periods of time. It eliminates drifts caused by temperature stress, e.g., during the filling of samples at temperatures greatly different from the measuring temperature. In fact, DMA 4101/4501/5001 density meters are the only instruments in the world to fully provide these capabilities.
The available models DMA 4101, DMA 4501 and DMA 5001 deliver accuracies of 0.0001 g/cm³, 0.00005 g/cm³ and 0.000005 g/cm³. Their applications include the measurement of petroleum, petroleum products, fuels, alternative fuels, as well as lubricants and crude oil.
The instruments can be placed on-board a mobile lab or near the sampling location due to their compact design and stable measuring technology 100% unaffected by external influences. The Intelligent condition-monitoring system provides a warning and recommends action if the instrument´s environmental conditions are not in the ideal range. This minimizes maintenance efforts and downtimes and maximizes productivity.
With an accuracy up to the 6th digit (DMA 5001), it far outperforms the requirements of ASTM D4052 for situations where unmatched accuracy is paramount: e.g., volume-to-mass conversion for account settlement. With an accuracy of 0.0001 g/cm³, the DMA 4101 fulfills ASTM D4052 requirements as well and provides analysis results in the shortest possible time. These laboratory density meters are the benchmark for any fuel density measurement application and can be equipped with fully automatic sample changers for the highest possible sample throughputs.
