Oxford Instruments Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) instruments provide critical quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC) and research solutions to the petrochemical industry.

Our MQC+ benchtop NMR analysers are used to measure:

•  Hydrogen in fuels in accordance with ASTM D7171-20.
• Oil in wax providing data equivalent to ASTM D721-17 and IP 158.
• The wax content of petroleum products.

The MQR instrument is a time domain NMR system for polymer research applications including mobility and phase ratios. X-Pulse benchtop NMR spectrometers enhance quality control by identifying the chemical structure of products. This includes checking the consistency of base oils, monitoring blends, petrochemicals consistency and purity and testing incoming raw materials. With installations in almost every major oil producer and SCAL laboratory, GeoSpec NMR rock core analysers characterise core samples from oilfield reservoirs and are increasing applied to accelerate research into carbon dioxide storage and sequestration.
