Fast, Reliable Sulphur In Fuels X-Ray Analysis
Feb 12 2010
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., (USA) announces the introduction of a new analytical package designed for use in the petroleum industry which delivers fast, accurate and reliable X-ray analysis. The Thermo Scientific ARL Optim’X Sulphur Analyser provides a comprehensive analytical package covering from ultra-low to high percent sulphur concentrations in a wide range of petro industry products.
As environmental regulations become stricter, the demand for ultra-low sulphur analysis in fuels is on the increase. Regulatory authorities worldwide have set maximum limits for sulphur content in these products and as a result petroleum companies require fast and accurate means of analysing low parts-per-million sulphur levels. In response to these heightened regulatory concerns and industry demand, the Thermo Scientific ARL Optim’X Sulphur Analyser is a compact and reliable WDXRF platform configured with dedicated Multichromators for fast analysis and improved sensitivity.
The new ARL OPTIM’X Sulphur Analyser package is a turn-key solution which is pre-configured to meet the specific sulphur analytical testing requirements of the petroleum industry in light and heavy fuels and oils.
Thanks to the innovative Ultra Closely Coupled Optics (UCCOTM), the equivalent of a 200W analytical performance is generated from 50W X-ray power. Temperature regulation of both the spectrometer and the crystals ensure outstanding stability and repeatability to comply with ASTM and ISO regulations. The compact instrument offers consistent performance without the need for water cooling and powerful and user-friendly
Thermo Scientific OXSAS software supports the spectrometer operation and data handling.
Quick and easy to install, the regulatory compliant package can be carefully calibrated in the factory using a series of reference samples, or optimised on-site using customers’ own standard samples to provide an accurate and reliable solution.
