Multi-function tribometer with an integrated 3D profilometer
Jun 19 2023
Rtec Instruments, who recently showcased their globally renowned tribometry technology at the OilDoc and STLE trade shows, offer a Multi-Function Tribometer with Integrated 3D Profilometer, which is widely regarded as the world’s most versatile and advanced instrument of its kind. This highly advanced analyser offers unsurpassed versatility, performance, and convenience for a wide range of surface and tribology studies. The MFT-5000, Rtec Instruments' flagship tribometer, is renowned for its unprecedented speed and comprehensive environmental control range. Featuring patented force sensors, this state-of-the-art tribometer enables users to achieve super-high speeds, ensuring precise and efficient testing across various applications.
One of the key components of the MFT-5000 is its patented integrated 3D profilometer. This ground-breaking feature enables extremely accurate surface analysis over time, enabling researchers to gain deeper insights into the coefficient of friction, wear, hardness, adhesion, and other crucial parameters. With its high-precision multiple Z stages, the MFT-5000 offers exceptional control and flexibility, making it an ideal choice for comprehensive surface characterisation.
The open platform architecture of the MFT-5000 ensures easy access and usability, while the spacious design provides the ability to mount current or future application modules on a single platform. This flexibility allows researchers to expand their testing capabilities and adapt to evolving research needs effortlessly.
A further outstanding feature of the MFT-5000 is its lower interchangeable module system. With fast-exchange modules, users can perform various tests on the same platform, including rotary, block on ring, reciprocating, fretting, scratch, among others. This modular approach enhances efficiency and convenience, eliminating the need for multiple instruments. Moreover, the MFT-5000 offers exceptional environmental control capabilities, boasting a wide temperature range of -120 °C to 1200 °C, humidity control from 5% to 95% RH, pressure up to 200 psi, and vacuum levels as low as 10-7 torr. This extensive range allows researchers to simulate real-world conditions and obtain accurate data for a diverse range of applications.
