Rugged Handheld XRF Maximises Uptime and Profitability
Jul 13 2017
Redefining rugged and improving performance and return on investment in the metal recycling, geochemistry and environmental regulatory sectors, the Olympus Vanta handheld XRF delivers high quality materials analysis even in the toughest environments – combining durability, performance and ease of use.
Olympus recently introduced its Vanta range of handheld XRF analysers – increasing productivity in materials analysis tasks. A rugged design delivers elemental analysis and quantification for a wide variety of materials in any setting, and results are now faster, more accurate and reliable than ever. Easy operation alongside a host of inventive features benefit many applications including alloy recycling, positive material identification (PMI), and geochemistry.
Protecting against damage in even the harshest environments, the Vanta redefines rugged, including a mesh and shutter to protect the detector from sharp objects and costly repair. The design maintains uptime and increases productivity allowing users to continually obtain laboratory-quality results. The Vanta are the only handheld XRF devices on the market that are IP 65 rated for protection against dust and water, and drop tested to military standards. In addition, operation within a temperature range of -10 °C to +50 °C is especially valuable during geochemistry and mining discovery programmes in extreme climates.
Increasing profitability, results are fast, accurate and repeatable. Elemental analysis and quantification are achieved in just 1-2 seconds, thanks to a breakthrough in XRF signal processing - Olympus’ Axon technology. This technology increases throughput and ensures analytical confidence, for example streamlining the QC of alloy and material identification. Alongside an internal library of over 700 alloys for comparison, alloy recycling, PMI and precious metal identification can be performed quickly and confidently.
The customisable user interface is easy to use, allowing new operators to perform insightful analysis with minimal training. A range of application-specific software features increase user productivity, delivering a fast return on investment. The Vanta also feature embedded GPS for XRF data spatial tracking, removing the need for costly external GPS accessories.
Built for high quality materials analysis in the field and yard alike, Olympus’ Vanta handheld XRF analysers are optimised to increase productivity, accuracy and profitability. The analysers benefit a wide range of applications from alloy recycling, PMI and geochemistry, through to precious metal identification, QA/QC and regulatory and safety screening.
