A Revolutionary New Oil and Fuel Cleanliness Monitor
May 06 2013
Contaminated oils and fuels account for almost 85% of all breakdowns. Particulate, not visible to the naked eye is the root cause of mechanical failures in Hydraulic, Lubrication and diesel Engine applications. Understanding the levels of cleanliness immediately in the field can help shorten the time taken traditionally by taking samples and sending them away for examination in a lab.
Filtertechnik’s (UK) Particle Pal is a self-contained battery driven field kit that takes a small feed of oil or fuel from a system or tank and passes it through a sophisticated laser counter. The unit has a display that gives a live reading of the cleanliness class in ISO, NAS or SAE standards (all international standards). Water monitors can also be added onto the unit to give the ppm count of water. The rechargeable battery is designed to give 8 hours of continual use. The kit is rugged and perfect for field or laboratory use.
Product features overview: Self contained design; Simple plug and play operation ; Utilises the latest laser particle counting technology ; Sample direct from a storage tank or from a sample bottle ; Oil and fuel cleanliness readings to ISO/NAS/SAE spec in real time ; Alerts to the presence of high moisture levels & bacterial contamination ; Data log and graphical analysis via USB link to PC.
Based in Nottingham, all Filtertechnik products are designed and built in-house. They sell their products throughout the UK, international sales account for around 30% of our total sales. Filtertechnik is rapidly expanding and is a specialist innovator in the Oil and Fuel filtration market.
Filtertechnik has supplied the Particle Pal into railway depots in Manchester, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Liverpool and London for use on the Class 390 Pendolino. The Class 390 Pendolino is an electric high-speed train used in Great Britain. Built by Alstom, it is one of the fastest domestic electric multiple units operating in Britain, with a top speed of 140 mph. The Particle Pal will allow the engineers of the Class 390 Pendolino to clearly identify any contamination that may arise in its storage tank.
