Determine Ester Content in FAME (EN 14103) with PetroReporter
Feb 15 2017
The PetroReporter software now features a new application to determine the ester content in fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) according to EN 14103. PetroReporter is developed by Da Vinci Laboratory Solutions as a tool for data processing and reporting of DHA, SimDist and Gas Calculation applications. Da Vinci recently added the EN 14103 application to verify if the ester content of FAME is greater than 90% and if the linolenic acid content is between 1 – 15% for ester samples.
EN 14103 Predefined Settings
PetroReporter includes predefined sample settings, component tables and formulas to provide a correct sample identification. Dedicated editors allow users to customise the settings and apply it to the analysis.
An example is the Application Editor; which can be used to modify:
- Physical properties of all available components, such as Index, Relative Response Factors (RRF), Molecular weight of component, Group types.
- Custom properties such as CAS code, Cetane Number, Iodine Factor
Upon request Da Vinci will add customised calculations.
Universal Tool
PetroReporter is a universal software tool that allows refinery labs, independent labs and chemical plants to use one software package to process and report all petroleum samples. In addition to EN 14103, PetroReporter can also be applied to DHA, SimDist and Gas Calculation applications. The required DHA, FAME, SimDist and-or Gas Calculation reports are created after data processing. The tool is currently used by a global installed base of leading oil refineries.
Replace your various software packages of different suppliers by PetroReporter and benefit from:
- One universal software tool for DHA, SimDist and Gas Calculation and FAME applications.
- A compatibility with multiple data systems including Agilent EZChrom Elite, OpenLab EZChrom, Agilent OpenLab ChemStation, DataApex Clarity, Perkin Elmer TotalChrom, Scion Compass, Thermo Atlas, Thermo Chromeleon and any other CDS system upon request.
- A stand-alone or a network configuration that allows you to process the data from any PC workstation.
- A wide range of report options to register the individual components, physical properties and more values.
- Predefined settings per sample type, databases and formulas to optimise the identification of the petroleum samples.
- User-friendly editors to customise the settings on-screen, just drag and drop the peaks in the on-screen chromatogram to adjust the identification.
