Elemental analysis
A new era for elemental combustion analysis
Dec 21 2020
The XPLORER-Series, from TE Instruments, is one of the most popular instruments worldwide for the analysis of nitrogen, sulphur, and halides in (petro)chemical samples. The core strength and power is driven by the combination of powerful combustion capacity and outstanding sensitivity within a small footprint. A true multi-matrix analyzer that enables fast and accurate sample analysis in liquid, solid, gas, and LPG samples. Easy to upgrade with advanced sample automation systems for practically all sample matrices due to its modular design.
Using the horizontal sample introduction, samples can be introduced either by direct injection or by the unique boat-inlet system. After the introduction, samples are oxidised at a high temperature in the advanced combustion environment. A complete, soot-free sample combustion creates the perfect condition for extremely accurate analyses, even at trace levels (<100 ppb). The formed nitrogen oxide (NO) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) molecules are detected according to Chemiluminescence and UV-Fluorescence technique. The XPLORER-NS fully complies with all relevant international test methods for total nitrogen and total sulphur analysis, such as the ASTM D5453, ASTM D4629, ASTM D5762, ASTM D6667, ASTM D7183, ASTM D7184, and ISO 20846. The perfect match for your current and future analytical needs.
In recent years, there has been a change in demand in terms of maximised throughput, system robustness, and optimised benchtop utilisation. New instruments need to be easy, fast, and small. To be ready for the future TE Instruments continues to strive for more innovative solutions for the elemental combustions market.
