Oil-Trace - Analysis of Wear Metals and Additives in Used and Unused Lubricating Oils
Jun 11 2013
XRF is extensively used for the elemental analysis of used and unused lubricating oils. This is reflected in several standard test methods like ASTM D4927, D6443, D2622, IP407 and ISO 14596.
With Oil-Trace, a single calibration based on mineral oil standards can be used for quantifying used and unused lubricating oils. Relatively inexpensive mineral oil standards are applicable for several types of oil, reducing total cost of ownership.
The AxiosmAX-Petro, PANalyticals (Netherlands) dedicated WDXRF system for the lube oil and automotive industry, in combination with Oil-Trace brings XRF oil analysis to the next level. The proprietary non-drift SST-mAX X-ray tube ensures that calibrations last for months. With one single calibration it is possible to accurately and precisely analyse wear metals, used and unused lubricating oils.
