HORIBA offers a large range of instrumental techniques such as X Ray Fluorescence, ICP-OES, IR gas analysis, Raman, Molecular Fluorescence.

• Sulfur in Oil can be monitored with the SLFA 60: This portable X Ray Fluorescence instrument, robust and easy to use, complies with the following standards ASTM D4294, ISO 8754, JISK2441/B7995. Two other instruments - SLFA 6100 and SLFA 6800 - complete the panel of available instruments for Sulfur in Oil determination offering lower measurement limits and built in autosampler.
• ICP –OES: the Ultima Expert combines a robust plasma source with a unique set of technical features (vertical torch, sheath gas, dedicated nebulisation, high power generator, high resolution optics) that make it a perfect tool for low maintenance additive or wear elements analysis complying with ASTM D 5185.
• HORIBA is the world expert in gas analysis. Detectors can be found for on line control of exhaust gases but are also built in dedicated instruments. For instances the EMIA Expert will measure Carbon & Sulfur in Catalysts according to the ASTM standards UOP703 & UOP 864. Typically 1g of sample is burned in an induction furnace under an O2 stream and the combustion gases (CO, CO₂, SO₂) are measured allowing to give the concentration of these elements in the catalyst.
• On-line Raman spectroscopic analysis allows the visualisation of concentration profiles along the Eluxyl adsorber on a real time basis. The Raman signals are obtained by illuminated a sample with a laser and they provide detailed molecular information about the investigated materials.
• Water quality by Molecular Fluorescence. The “Aqualog” instrument allows the determination of coloured dissolved organic matters in water and is a key asset for environment protection.
