Total Oil and Grease in Water
May 05 2011
Eralytics (Austria), proudly presents the Eracheck - the ultimate solution for the fast and easy measurement of sub-ppm concentrations of oil in water and soil. The innovative and patented QCL-IR (Quantum Cascade Laser Infra-Red) measuring technology finally allows the CFC-free testing of Total Oil and Grease (TOG) and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) in water and soil samples within an unbeaten combination of measurement range (0-2000 mg/l) and limit of detection (0.2 mg/l).
The ERACHECK measures TOG & TPH according to the latest available ASTM standard: ASTM D7678-11
A quick and easy field analysis method for determining oil and grease concentration levels is important for offshore oil platforms, refineries and oil depots. It can also be operated flexibly to address a series of process issues. The most common sites of operation are prior to and after water purification systems, such as primary to tertiary water separators, water feeds and filtration equipment.
With the manufacture of Freon 113 banned by the Montreal Protocol, older methods like ASTM D 3921 and Din 38409 that used infrared analysis and Freon as the extraction solvent had to be replaced.
The Eracheck uses a very similar extraction procedure, but comes with the CFC-free, cheap and easily available solvents Cyclohexane or Cyclopentan. It offers maximum precision in sub-ppm range over a wide measuring range in excellent correlation to ASTM D3921 and D7066. Eracheck is a portable stand-alone analyser equipped with the latest communication technology. Data can be saved onto a memory stick and documented in popular PC worksheet formats for further data analysis.
