EJX 910A: Multivariable Pressure/Flow Transmitter
Jan 10 2009
The Yokogawa EJX 910A multivariable pressure/flow transmitter provides a measurement of up to six variables: differential pressure, static pressure (on the ‘high’ and ‘low’ sides), process temperature, capsule temperature and amplifier temperature. It can transmit five variables selected from the above list plus a dynamically calculated and fully compensated mass flow measurement function.
The patented DPharp single-crystal silicon resonant sensor technology ensures high accuracy, provides superior overpressure protection, minimises the effect of temperature and static pressure changes and provides the unique multisensing capability. The DPharp measuring principle allows both differential and static pressure to be measured from one single sensor, making it unique in the world of multivariable transmitters.
Both FOUNDATION Fieldbus and HART versions can be easily configured using a DTM with the FSA120 enhanced flow configuration wizard. This wizard adds multivariable flow calculation functions for various primary elements and support for the physical properties of 126 different fluids, resulting in a flow accuracy of 1% over a 10:1 turndown. In conjunction with Yokogawa’s FieldMate™ Advanced, the DTM not only enables the user to set key FOUNDATION Fieldbus parameters, but also gives you a complete transmitter management solution.
The FOUNDATION Fieldbus version is expected to be particularly attractive for applications such as upstream oil and gas, where pressure and temperature measurement are mandatory at every well, remote operation of unmanned sites is becoming the norm, and a reduction in the overall number of devices is welcomed to reduce power consumption.
