Easy and Reliable Fieldbus Installations All the Way into the Ex-zone

Presently, more than 200,000 field devices all over the world are connected to the process control system via FieldConnex Segment Protectors and FieldBarriers from Pepperl+Fuchs (Germany). This means, that fieldbus is safe from short circuits as well as energy-limited to match the requirements of any explosion hazardous areas and with field devices being installed even in Zone 0 (Class I/Div. 1). These are two examples, of how FieldConnex guarantees the highest level of safety while turning the fieldbus into a highly reliable infrastructure
    for the worldwide process industry.
But that`s not all. Fieldbus Process Interfaces allow the interaction of different technology generations and provide the seamless integration of conventional digital and analog signals into fieldbus. Temperature multi-input and valve couplers are powered solely through the fieldbus and provide an interface for multiple signals which
can be addressed via a common fieldbus address directly from the process control system. Such intelligent solutions combine fast installation and configuration with easy handling and dependable operation. Not to forget the High-Power Trunk as an enabling technology, which has turned the fieldbus into the de-facto standard communications infrastructure of the process industry. All these innovations were developed by the experts at Pepperl+Fuchs.
The High-Power Trunk combines robust energy supply with special solutions for the Ex-Zone and has extended the limits as to the number of field devices to be connected over larger distances.
But the development keeps going on. One example is the next generation of Segment Protectors and Power Supplies which meet highest requirements as to system availability. They help to turn the fieldbus into a proven infrastructure for safety-related applications as well.
