Market leading humidity resistant VOC detectors on display

The popular Tiger handheld VOC detector will be displayed at OSEA, along with the range of other high performance Ion Science gas detection instrumentation suitable for the Oil & Gas industry. Independently verified as the best performing PID technology for speed, accuracy and humidity resistance Ion Science volatile organic compound (VOC) detectors provide the most effective operation within challenging environments.

Ion Science will also be highlighting its Cub personal PID monitor, Tiger Select benzene and total aromatic compound (TAC) detector, Mercury Vapour Indicator (MVI), TVOC fixed PID detector, and variety of GasCheck gas leak detectors on stand 1H5-08, OSEA, Singapore.

Offering a robust and reliable design, the well-proven Tiger handheld PID features advanced, patented Fence Electrode technology for increased resistance to humidity and contamination, allowing extended operation in difficult working conditions. It provides a dynamic detection range of one parts per billion (ppb) to 20,000 parts per million (ppm), offering the widest measurement range of any other VOC instrument on the market.

Ready to use, straight out of the box, the intrinsically safe (IS) Tiger requires no complicated set up procedures via a PC to perform basic functions and provides the best available VOC detection and software features available. It has the fastest response time on the market of just two seconds and can be connected directly to a PC via the USB offering rapid data download capabilities.

Ion Science’s Cub personal PID monitor is the world’s smallest, lightest and most sensitive gas detector for the accurate detection of VOCs and Total Aromatic Compounds (TACs). With market-leading ppb sensitivity, Cub features an audible, vibrating and flashing LED alarm designed to give workers an early warning of exposure to hazardous gases, including benzene, before they reach harmful levels.

The Tiger Select is a revolutionary handheld gas detector with two mode operation for the rapid and accurate detection of benzene and TACs. Utilising the high output Ion Science 10.0eV monitoring system, a reading for TACs is seen immediately on start-up. Should TACs be detected, a Draeger benzene pre-filter tube can be easily attached to ensure rapid detection and selective measurement of benzene.

Throughout the measurement process, Tiger Select continues to display real time data, ensuring the final reading represents the full value of actual benzene present. Benzene concentrations are displayed down to ppb levels.

The fast and accurate Mercury Vapour Indicator (MVI) detects mercury vapours in just three seconds. Unlike traditional gold film detection methods, the instrument’s dual beam UV absorption technology means MVI does not saturate or need regenerating between readings, helping to eliminate downtime. The MVI gives a real time response and is ready to detect instantly. It provides continuous readings and offers two detection ranges: 0.1 to 200 and 1.0 to 1999 microgram/cubic meter.

Ion Science’s TVOC is a robust and rugged fixed PID detector for the continuous measurement of total VOCs within harsh environments such as petrochemical applications. It also offers advanced patented Fence Electrode technology, a three electrode format and increased resistance to humidity and contamination.

Designed specifically for the detection of gas leaks, the Ion Science range of GasCheck gas, leak detectors respond rapidly to any gas, or mix of gases. The advanced micro-thermal conductivity sensor of the GasCheck G accurately detects the smallest of gas leaks down to cc/sec, mg/m3 or ppm levels.

The GasCheck IS gas leak detector is the only ATEX approved, IS leak detector on the market. The IS rating is an ideal tool for use in areas classified as zone zero flammable, and can safely detect flammable gases. The devices are calibrated against helium and particularly sensitive to ammonia, argon, butane, hydrogen, SF6 and refrigerants.
