Evolutionary Wireless Gas Detection
Jun 04 2014
GasSecure AS (Norway) develops, markets and sells the world's first truly wireless optical gas detector for demanding industrial applications. The detector uses patented ultra-low power MEMS optical filter technology and has introduced a new level of reliability and flexibility for the detection of gas leakages and represents an evolution in gas detection. The totally wireless detectors increase safety and dramatically reduce costs for the oil and gas, petrochemical, marine and process industries.
GasSecure manufactures and sells the evolutionary GS01 Wireless Infrared Hydrocarbon Gas Detector for demanding industrial applications such as offshore platforms, terminals, tank farms, drill sites and petrochemical plants. Installations are totally free of cabling meaning massive project cost reductions of up to 60~80% compared to wired devices.
The intrinsically safe, long-life battery powered GasSecure GS01 detector uses patented ultra-low power MEMS optical filter technology with single-beam triple-wavelength IR and has introduced a new level of reliability for the detection of gas leakages. The GS01 has life-time zero point stability so that it never needs field calibration. Its SafeWireless communication, utilising the open ISA100 Wireless standard, makes integration with commercially available wireless access points very easy.
The intrinsically safe GS01 detectors are permanently installed in applications ranging from arctic to tropical and cover extremely demanding onshore and offshore applications including North Sea production facilities operated by major European O&G exploration companies. Here they are exposed to extreme weather and have proved reliable in use with reduced project costs.
