Downstream USA 2021 exhibition and conference returns to Houston with their most prestigious speaker lineup yet

Houston will host the upcoming Downstream 2021. The organizers, Reuters Events, have stated that this event, now In a unique hybrid format, will have the strongest lineup of speakers that the Industry has ever witnessed.
This year's event will take place digitally from October 12th to 15th, followed by a conventional conference and exhibition taking place at the NRG Center, In Houston, from October 21st to 22nd.
Among the speakers will be Jim Fitterling (Chairman and CEO of Dow), Alisha Bellezza (President of Thermal and Specialized Solutions at Chemours), Bruce Chinn (CEO of Chevron Phillips Chemical), Diane Chamberlain (President and Managing Director of Baystar Polymers), Thomas Gangl (CEO of Borealis) - to name just a few.
Bridget Robinson, head of downstream at Reuters Events stated, “We are excited to back in Houston this October, particularly at a time when market demands have changed and downstream must pivot to meet them. As the industry of industries, we must lead the charge in this next chapter, securing the future of our sector and the prosperity of our customers.”
Downstream 2021 consists of four hybrid tracks:
- Engineering and construction: This will feature making the right decisions on capital expenditure, resource capacity planning, operating during the pandemic and scaling Innovation, which includes looking at the most Important factors when scaling across several projects and achieving immediate commercial growth
- Reliability and maintenance: The track will discuss harnessing predictive technologies, the optimization of asset performance management strategy, the new, post COVID, 'normal' of maintenance, holistic staffing practices, digitalization with robots, machine learning, with additional topics anticipated.
- Shutdown and turnarounds: Participants will focus on future, post pandemic turnaround strategies, digitized turnarounds using the latest technology, advances in scope development, optimizing turnaround excellence as well as integration of capital projects.
- Leadership: The leadership discussions will focus on building buoyant business models, integrating sustainable operations, effective use of innovation, sustaining a philosophy built around the customers and encouraging diversity in the downstream sector In areas such as diversification and staff training and retaining.
Visitors to the event will be able to see more than 150 exhibitor booths and it is anticipated that over 15,000 virtual and 3,000 physical attendees will be present. Downstream 2021 is the only multi-discipline downstream exhibition and conference to feature so many of the world’s biggest names in the petrochemical, chemical, refining and liquefied natural gas sectors.
Both the digital and physical events will include one-to-one networking to enable visitors and delegates to link up with a profusion of downstream producers, engineers, procurement and construction contractors, digital and technology manufacturers and suppliers as well as other contributors to the conference.
