Temperature Specialists Reap Reward
Sep 13 2009
German manufacturers Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau GmbH (Huber) has been recognised as a "Top Innovator" in a country wide survey amongst medium sized companies in Germany. The survey was carried out under a system developed by Professor Dr. Nikolaus Franke of the University for Economics, Vienna.
The program examines carefully the areas of: innovation stimuli generated by the management structure, the innovative climate, innovative processes and organization, innovative marketing and innovative success.
The honour "Top 100 - Quality Seal“ confirms the outstanding innovative strength of Huber and was presented to Huber’s Managing Directors Mr. Daniel Huber and Mr. Joachim Huber by the former Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Prof. Lothar Spth at a ceremony in Petersberg on Friday 26th June 2009.
In an interview following the presentation, Mr Daniel Huber said: "We are a great team at Huber as this award has honoured us and our father’s work. Soon after our father started our family business the specialised press named him "Pope of refrigeration" or the "revolutionist of temperature control". His revolutionary solutions to application complexities have driven the development of our current product range. We are particularly pleased for our staff that have and continue to contribute at every level and dimension of the company and the products we produce. An innovative climate has been part of the company philosophy since it was started. The honour to officially belong to the "Top 100 innovative medium-sized enterprises" in a market as competitive and focused as Germany, it confirms drive, our ethics and our philosophy. This award further motivates us and our team. In this economically turbulent period we can move forward with the knowledge that we will continue to innovate and lead the way. We do not have to be the largest company in our field but we do want to be the best. The honour in being awarded with the seal "Top 100" supplements the impressions of the 2009 "Achema", world-wide the largest trade fair for our industry. Visitors so our booth were clearly enthused by the latest innovations displayed: the small Tango "Petite Fleur", the new "WebBox" and the first CO2-Chiller."
Joe Huber said: "We created a structure, which permits flexibility and encourages alternative, new construction methods and ideas. The work-place environment encourages spontaneous meetings of experts in refrigeration, software, CAD, stainless steel fabricators and customer support. Ideas are openly discussed evaluated and acted upon, not only what is possible in new products but also what can be improved in existing ones’. This system has proven to be particularly efficient when building prototypes. The involvement of the team at every level gives full ownership of the results to the team, which encourages an entrepreneurial climate with ideas continually flowing. With our quite unorthodox innovative climate we see ourselves moving in the right direction."
