McKinley is the founder and president of Kin-Tek Laboratories, Inc. His work since 1970 has focused on the development of permeation tube technology for creating dynamically blended calibration and test gas mixtures with precisely known concentration. He has published dozens of technical papers, holds patents for a gas detection apparatus and an ammonia analysis system, and has presented at numerous conferences around the world. He holds a B.S. in physics and an M.S. in mathematics from the University of Houston. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society.
ISA recently announced the 2008 ISA Honours & Awards recipients to recognize individuals whose support of, and/or contributions to the advancement of the arts and sciences of instrumentation, systems, and automation deserve special recognition. Their recognition was celebrated at the 46th annual ISA Honours & Awards Gala on October 13 at The Westin Galleria, Houston, Texas, USA., held in conjunction with ISA EXPO â08, October 14 -16th at the Reliant Center, also in Houston.
