New next-generation gear meters with optimised operating efficiencies for more accurate Flow Measurement Under Diverse Conditions
May 19 2021
AW-Lake Process Flow Measurement introduces its Next-Generation Gear Meter Series that offers greater efficiencies in operation with tighter tolerances, higher resolutions, higher standard pressure ratings (6000 psi), improved accuracy, wider turndowns (100:1), and a new low-viscosity series. Designed with high-performance materials, the Next-Generation Gear Meters offer high chemical resistance to operate safely in abrasive or filled fluids while providing a long service life of more than 30 years in the field, +0.1% repeatability, and +0.5% standard accuracy. These positive displacement gear meters work in bi-directional flow applications and are unaffected by changing viscosities.
The Gear Meters offer multiple output options including pulse, analog, or Modbus to deliver data in required formats for PLCs, PCs, and remote displays. When combined with AW-Lake’s Edge Flow Electronics, the Next-Generation Gear Meters provide better access, understanding, and control of a process from a smartphone. Mobile and PC-based applications streamline installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
The Next-Generation Gear Meters include the JV-BB Positive Displacement Spur Gear Flow Meter, which replaces the JV-KG Line for measuring oil, fuel, polyurethane, brake fluid, Skydrol and other non-abrasive, low-to-medium viscosity lubricating fluids. Offering high accuracy and a large turndown range, these gear meters are an attractive replacement for mag meters or oval gear technology. Units are ideal for use in chemical injection and dosing systems, fuel measurement, test stands, and hydraulic positioning systems.
The JV-TC Positive Displacement Spur Gear Flow Meter replaces the JV-CG line for highly accurate, cost-effective metering of paints, adhesives, sealants, light and heavy fuel oils, resins, lubricants, and petrochemical products. Ideal for metering small-particle fluids of medium to high viscosity, the JV-TC Gear Meters are ideal for filling and dosing systems and two- and three-component mixing systems.
The JVH Positive Displacement Spur Gear Flow Meter replaces the JVHS line for measuring oil, fuel, additives, and chemicals in hazardous area rate environments. Designed for operation in systems rated to 15,000 psi (1035 bar), the JVH Gear Meters are used in offshore production platforms for chemical injection, land-based oil recovery sites, and chemical processing plants.
The JV-UF Positive Displacement Spur Gear Flow Meter is a new series for flow measurement of low viscosity fluids such as kerosene, fuels, and odorants at very low flow rates down to 2 cc/min. Designed for accurate flow measurement, the JV-UF Gear Meters are idea of use in chemical injection skids, fuel & solvent measurement, liquid seal dispensing and batching and dosing.
“Our Next-Generation Gear Meter Series is a result of decades of experience, customer feedback, and an extensive study of the latest technologies,” notes Mark Iverson, General Manager, AW-Lake. “The new designs offer more precise flow measurement with a variety of output options, including one that pairs with our EDGE Family of flow electronics for remote monitoring and management of operations on a smartphone.”
