Improve Safety, Precision, and Productivity with Automated Distillation Analysis
Jan 23 2013
With over 50 years of experience in distillation analysis, Herzog by PAC introduced the OptiDist, its 6th generation automated distillation analyzer. Distillation analysis has been part of the refinery process since the early 1900’s; the ASTM D86 method was released around then. Herzog introduced the first automated D86 instrument in 1957.
The OptiDist is in compliance with several leading automated distillation standards, including ASTM D86, ASTM D1078, ASTM D850, EN ISO 3405, EN ISO 918, IP 123, IP 195, DIN51 751, JIS K2254, and NFN 07-002. The OptiDist provides significant benefits, including:
- Ease Of Use - fully automated distillation analysis from Initial Heating to Final Heating Control, which significantly reduces operator intervention
- Highly Accurate Analysis - measures the sample charge volume in the measuring cylinder to eliminate errors from the charge volume
- Precise Results On the First Run - automatically sets the optimal distillation conditions for any sample through the unique heating optimizer technology, which eliminates the need to repeat tests since you get perfect results from the first run, even for “unknown” samples
- Unmatched Safety Features - evacuates the VOC from the receiver compartment to ensure users of the analyzer are not exposed to harmful vapors
