Analytical Instrumentation
Colour Analyser with Enhanced Performance and Versatility
Dec 17 2013
By using a dispersive spectrophotometer the Icon (UK) colour analyser can operate at multiple wavelengths and avoids the limitations of the fixed wavelength optical filters used in traditional instruments. Working in the range of 360-1100nm the unit can evaluate colour according to any visible colour comparison scale (e.g. ASTM and Saybolt colour of petroleum products) and can measure the concentration of multiple coloured substances in solution. The analyser is of rugged construction and is certified explosion proof to international standards. It features a multi-language 10” colour touchscreen interface with a user friendly operating software for easy set up even in the field. While most applications will use the standard Icon optical measuring cell, the use of industry standard fibre optic connections permit the unit to be used with a whole range of specialised third party measuring cells if required.
