Sulphur Analyser in all Fuels and Oil, compliant with ASTM D-4294
Jan 26 2011
With more than 30 years history in sulphur analysis with X-ray technology, HORIBA has been enjoying good reputation among users, thanks to high quality of products, either in Europe, or in the USA where Horiba dominates the market. Most of major oil refinery companies, testing companies and laboratories are using our SLFA analysers. After releasing SLFA-1100H/1800H in 1994, best selling instruments for US diesel regulation, Horiba regularly introduced some new models. First the SLFA-20 which is still today probably the most famous S-in– Oil analyser. Its very compact size and light weight leads to the ideal model for ‘everywhere’ analysis.
When lower limit of detection are required, the latest EDX SLFA-2100/2800 will be preferred. The second version is equipped with an 8 position autosampler. It is based on the same principle for sulphur analysis using EDX method, as describe on ASTM D-4294.
With these analysers, the typical detection limit is 5 ppm. While a good detection limit is very useful, the crucial problem with energy dispersive X-Ray fluorescence is the matrix effect. Major developments for the new instrument are automatic matrix corrections with sophisticated algorithms and innovative spectrum analysis. Thanks to these new and unique features, the SLFA 2000 series automatically makes matrix corrections for a wide range of sample C/H ratio (from 7 to 9).
Ultra low detection limits and matrix correction enable these analysers to be an essential tool for all type of products: From 0 - 10% S in sour crude to sweet crude to straight run gasoline to reformulated gasoline, etc.
