Discover Emerson’s new CSI 2140 Machinery Health™ Analyser with four-channel simultaneous data collection, wireless and Bluetooth communication, and full-colour touchscreen navigation. Take advantage of fast route-collection capability and ergonomic enhancements.
As the latest in vibration analysis technology, Emerson’s CSI 2140 Machinery HealthTM Analyser provides superior advances for analysing machinery vibration and detecting potential problems before they lead to unplanned downtime. The CSI 2140 delivers four-channel simultaneous data-collection functionality, wireless and Bluetooth communication, and a full-colour touchscreen. With its rapid route-collection capability, the CSI 2140 enables technicians to spend more time on higher-value tasks.
Early detection of bearing problems
Because over 50% of mechanical issues are caused by bearing wear, effective monitoring of bearing health is a key component of reliability programmes. With the CSI 2140 four-channel data-collection capability, a technician can simultaneously collect vertical, horizontal, and axial readings on a sleeve bearing. Using this data and Emerson’s unique PeakVue™ technology, reliability engineers can detect compromised bearing performance earlier than with any other measurement technique. In addition, advanced diagnostics embedded in the CSI 2140 help analysts drive to the root cause of mechanical issues.
Quick wireless data transfer to the office
Most vibration analysers require a cabled connection to the plant asset database to upload data for analysis. Using the CSI 2140, however, a technician can send collected data wirelessly from the field to the office. The technician can then continue on the route - or start another route - without a return trip to the maintenance shop. The data is also available for analysis by specialists at corporate headquarters or other locations.
Comfort and ease of use
The analyser’s new ergonomic shape and lighter weight make data-collection routes easier on technicians and discourage errors arising from fatigue. The thinner form is comfortable to carry on long routes and operate with one hand. The shoulder strap has a large, slip-proof padded area to reduce friction on the neck and back. Connecting the strap is as simple as pushing a button - easily reconfigured for left- or right-hand users. Data collection using the CSI 2140 is reduced by 30 to 60 per cent, minimising the time spent in uncomfortable or dangerous environments. The screen auto-adjusts based on ambient lighting and is easy to read in both direct sunlight and dark areas.
Accuracy and depth of analysis
Additional CSI 2140 capabilities enable technicians to perform single-, dual-, or four-channel vibration analysis, cross-channel analysis, transient analysis, structural analysis, AC electric motor monitoring, and four-plane dynamic balancing - providing a complete, easy-to-use tool for fast, accurate assessment of rotating machinery health.
