Anton Paar expands product portfolio with acquisition of Brabender GmbH & Co. KG

In a strategic move that will bolster its product offerings and strengthen its presence in the material characterisation sector considerably, Anton Paar has announced the acquisition of Brabender GmbH & Co. KG. who will operate under the name "Anton Paar TorqueTec GmbH."

Brabender are based in Duisburg, Germany; they are globally renown in the measurement and process engineering sector, specialising in testing a wide array of raw materials and offering recipe and process development solutions. The company caters to a variety of industries, including plastics, rubber and batteries among other specialised applications.

The acquisition agreement was officially signed on August 1, 2023, with the purchase price kept confidential by mutual agreement. A seamless integration of Brabender into the Anton Paar Group is expected and customers can continue to access products and services via Brabender’s website and sales organisation as usual.

Dr. Friedrich Santner, the CEO of Anton Paar, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the company, citing Brabender's century-old expertise in developing so of the world’s most respected measuring instruments as a decisive factor in the decision to make the acquisition. Material characterisation is a key growth market for Anton Paar and the addition of Brabender's capabilities fits perfectly with the company's future plans.

“In line with its own long-term strategy, Anton Paar will sustainably expand and further strengthen Brabender's sites in Duisburg and Hackensack (USA).” stated Dr. Santner.

Approximately 200 Brabender employees will join the Anton Paar family, creating numerous opportunities for advancement in research, development, sales, and service.
