Advanced fuel analysis calibration and verification kits launched
Jun 18 2024
Grabner Instruments has recently launched its new fuel analysis calibration and verification kits, designed to enhance the precision and reliability of fuel analysis instruments. These kits are meticulously engineered to meet the rigorous standards of routine verification, full normalisation, and calibration of the MINISCAN IR Vision, a leading-edge FTIR fuel analyser.
The MINISCAN IR Vision stands out for its high-speed, compact, and robust design, offering comprehensive and automatic measurement of gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel fuels. With the ability to measure over 100 fuel parameters and components, it serves essential roles in fuel blending, quality inspection, and compliance checks directly at points of sale.
The MINISCAN IR Vision’s capabilities are unsurpassed, with over 100 preconfigured parameters, ensuring detailed compound analysis according to international standards. The instrument adheres to ASTM D5845 for oxygenates, ASTM D6277 and EN 238 for benzene, and EN 14078 for biodiesel blends. It features a built-in temperature-regulated density meter for precise fuel density determination. Advanced chemometric models and Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis, in line with ASTM E1655, ensure accurate predictions based on thousands of data points.
One of the unique aspects of the MINISCAN IR Vision is its database of real samples, collected and analysed by SGS®, which forms the backbone of its calibration data. This adherence to stringent quality standards guarantees reliability and accuracy in predicting fuel properties.
The MINISCAN IR Vision is portable and durable, perfect for field use. Its thermoelectric temperature regulation, robust metal filling system, and shock- and vibration-tested Vision platform housing make it resilient to the rigors of mobile testing. The instrument’s 10” full-colour industrial touchscreen ensures visibility and ease of use even in challenging environments. For added convenience, it can be powered by a 12V car adapter.
To support the ongoing accuracy and performance of the MINISCAN IR Vision, Grabner Instruments introduces a range of calibration and verification kits.
The Grabner Gasoline Calibration Fluid Kit enables the full calibration of aromatics and oxygenates for typical gasoline blends. Each sample supports up to 4 measurements in automatic mode and up to 9 in manual mode.
The Diesel Calibration Fluid Kit facilitates full calibration of biodiesel and cetane improver concentrations in diesel. It adheres to ASTM and EN standards, with each sample allowing up to 4 measurements in automatic mode and up to 9 in manual mode.
Grabner’s Benzene Verification Kit contains a 250ml sample for exact verification of benzene at around 3.5v%. Each sample supports up to 10 measurements in automatic mode and up to 24 in manual mode, ideal for routine performance checks.
Also in the new range is the ASTM FAME Verification Kits, which are available in low (4v%) and high (15v%) biodiesel concentrations, each kit includes a 250ml sample, suitable for up to 10 measurements in automatic mode and up to 24 in manual mode.
The EN FAME Verification Kit offers a 250ml sample for verifying biodiesel at 5.00v% in cyclohexane, supporting up to 10 measurements in automatic mode and up to 24 in manual mode.
Finally, the Golden Reference Sample is essential for normalization of the interferometer post-maintenance, this kit includes a 100ml sample of a precise blend of anisole and n-dodecane, allowing up to 4 measurements in automatic mode and up to 9 in manual mode.
Grabner Instruments’ new calibration and verification kits have been developed to elevate the standards of fuel analysis, ensuring that the MINISCAN IR Vision delivers the highest accuracy and reliability in various testing environments.
