Gasmix.com describes practical solutions for the on-site generation of calibration gas, specialty gas mixtures, and controlled synthetic atmospheres.

GasMix™ is widely used in industry to perform multi-point calibrations and linearity checks of gas analysers, elemental analysers, GC detectors, LOQ/LOD validation. The application areas also include generation of complex synthetic gas mixtures for testing interferences, development and validation of chemo metrics models for spectrometers, engine bench tests and emission control.

Usually for these purposes laboratories have to keep significant stock of the standard gas cylinders with various concentrations. Gas calibration standards and mixes in cylinders are expensive to order, delivery times are long and the validity of the certificate is relatively short. To save money and gain flexibility, the use of dynamic gas mixers is a practical solution.

With precise gas mixers/diluters, like Aiolos II, the calibration gas is easy to generate on site at the desired concentrations just when you need it.

Some mixtures are unstable at storage, some are even not commercially available. There is a solution. The LiqMix Cascade is an accurate calibration tool designed for automated generation of customised standard gas from neat liquids or liquid cocktail mixtures. Due to its unique intelligent multi-stage cascade dilution, LiqMix Cascade can provide a very wide range of concentrations from % down to ppb levels. Gas standards such as BTEX in air, other VOC, siloxanes, ethanol, phenol, and humidity standards can be delivered.

Following highest metrology requirements our instruments not only accurately prepares gas mixtures, but they also automatically calculates and report maximum relative uncertainty for every delivered concentration. Dedicated and user-friendly software controls the operation, manages mass flow controllers and its calibration tables, perform automatic calculation of liquid and gas flows, to achieve desired concentration of analytes even for very complex multicomponent mixtures. Users can easily automate the process by synchronising dilutions, injection, flushing timings with an external analyser, such as a gas chromatograph, pre-concentrator, spectrometer, gas analyser or other system, and store it in a pre-programmed sequence. The Audit Trail function performs complete traceability of the operations carried out.
