An evolutionary step forward for fuel stability and compatibility analysis

Significant improvements have been made to AD Systems’ SV10 Automated S-value analyser software.

These latest advances have made the SV10 is an even more valuable analytical tool for measuring fuel stability and evaluating compatibility.

The SV10 goes beyond the standard ASTM D7157 reporting of S-value, So, Sa; it also calculates additional values that are commonly used for oil compatibility and blending stability assessment of crude oil and marine fuels in accordance to the CIMAC Guideline “Marine fuel handling in connection to stability and compatibility “

The SV10 reports the Insolubility Number (IN) and Solubility Blending Number (SBN) and estimates stability reserve and blending potential.

The ILS conducted in 2022 has demonstrated excellent repeatability and reproducibility on the SV10 analyser, twice as good as its predecessor, while maintaining a good correlation with historical numbers.

Besides enhanced reporting, the instrument has other improved features such as improved priming, direct access to cleaning procedures, accounting for dispensed solvents, and many other small improvements that make it more straightforward to use and service.
