The Tunable Diode Laser Family from Siemens

Apr 27 2010

Siemens’ (USA) Tunable Diode Laser Family, which includes the multipoint LDS 6 and the single point Sitrans SL, is designed for in-situ, maintenance free measurement of NH3, HCL, HF, CO, CO2, O2 or H20 in the toughest petrochemical and refining applications.

The LDS6 is ideal for measuring NH3 slip, 0-10 ppm on the outlet of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of the CO boiler at the back end of Fluidized-Bed Catalytic Cracking Unit’s (FCCU’s). It features lifetime, automatic, online calibration at 24 times per second, zero drift, no moving parts, with minimal interference and fast response rates. This laser can measure up to three points for the same component; either NH3, HCl, HF, CO, CO2, O2 or H2O. It also automatically online calibrates itself with an internal reference cell 24 times per second.

The Sitrans SL is designed to measure O2 in process furnaces to replace high maintenance zirconium oxide units. This laser can measure O2 in-situ for one point with no interferences and without a calibration check for at least 12 months. The Sitrans SL has a minimum detectible limit of 200 ppm O2, with a response time of 2 seconds and is suitable for Class 1, Division 1, groups A, B, C, D area operation. Both the LDS6 and the Sitrans SL are ideal for O2 safety monitoring in flare gas, or inert blanketing as well a process control in Chemical Plants.
