New PIONAplus Website
Mar 30 2012
The PIONA+ Analyser from Bruker (USA) is the gas chromatography solution for hydrocarbon and olefin analysis, easily performing a variety of industry standard (ASTM, UOP, EN, ISO, GPA) methods. Now a portfolio of technical application notes is available at their new, dedicated product website. They offer visitors direct access to a range of technical literature, including detailed methodologies and application notes on the analysis of hydrocarbon stream range from PNA (Paraffins, Naphthenes and Aromatics) to O-PIONA (oxygenates + n-paraffins, iso-paraffins, iso-olefins, n-olefins, cyclic olefins, naphthenes, aromatics).
Using a fully automated multi-dimensional gas chromatography approach to analyse individual hydrocarbons groups per carbon number, the PIONA+ Analyzer ramps up productivity. The use of molecular sieve columns and carefully matched concurrent temperature programming provides simultaneous separation of hydrocarbons. This reduces traditional analysis time by almost half and enhances the molecular carbon range analysed. Additionally, the stability, sample loading capacity, and lifetime of the traps in the PIONA+ Analyzer have all been optimized, making it possible to analyse streams with high olefin content. A versatile instrument, the PIONA+ Analyzer performs a single injection, total eluting analysis using universal flame ionization detection (FID). The sample undergoes separation into its component groups (O-PIONA) according to carbon number, through the use of multiple columns and highly selective traps.
