Watchdog Discovers Oil Leaks
Mar 31 2010
The new Watchdog Oil Alarm OM5 from Afriso (Germany) has been designed for the detection of oil leaks in catchment chambers or drip trays, inspection shafts, pipe or cable ducts as well as in pumping and
control stations. The oil alarm consists of a control unit and a maximum of 5 sensing probes (for 5 independent detection locations), the probes being connected to the unit by 3-core signal cables.
The probes are always positioned at the lowest points of the areas to be monitored; in the event of an oil leak a visual and audible alarm is immediately initiated by the control unit which incorporates a mute button for silencing the audible alarm. The 1- 5 probes which caused the alarm are shown on the control unit. The compact instrument incorporates all indication and operating elements as well a voltage-free relay contact for additional external switching functions. The control unit is suitable for use with 230V AC and is designed for easy wall mounting. Using an optionally available mounting frame, the high impact plastic housing can also be integrated quickly and simply into control consoles or control panels.
Watchdog Oil Alarm OM5 detects heating oils EL, L, M, diesel fuels and low viscosity lubricating oils of Group/Danger Class A III, engine, gear and hydraulic oils as well as vegetable and transformer oils. The oil alarm carries the General Building Regulations Approval Z-65.40-214. (DIBt)
