Trade Body Heads to Houston for New Learnings and Opportunities

May 09 2017

It’s hoped that new knowledge, new opportunities and new partnerships will come from Oil & Gas UK attending next week’s Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

It’s been five years since the trade body attended OTC and the trip is another step towards it developing its international relationships.

Deirdre Michie, Chief Executive of Oil & Gas UK, who will be there, said: “This global gathering is an excellent opportunity to represent our member companies, connect with industry partners and gather further information about industry good practice and the international opportunities that exist for the UK supply chain.”

The CEO will visit UK companies on the Scottish Development International Stand, join the Global Scots Networking event and business breakfasts as well as attend technical sessions.

The OTC trip comes in the wake of representatives from Oil & Gas UK sharing the progress that the UK industry has made in terms of increasing efficiency and improving costs - with particular reference to the Oil & Gas UK Efficiency Task Force - as the guest of organisations in South America, Australia and Canada.

“The Houston visit will help inform what we can do to better support our members, nationally and internationally, as well as further raising the profile of Oil & Gas UK on a global platform,” added Ms Michie.
