Larger Office with Demo Facility
Oct 01 2012
PANalytical (USA) have moved their Houston area office to a new and larger office at 4802 North Sam Houston Parkway West, Suite 100, in Houston, TX. Co-located with sister company Malvern Instruments’ Center of Excellence for separations products, the 22,000 sq. ft. multipurpose facility houses state-of-the-art laboratories, including a PANalytical demonstration laboratory, office space, and some 600 sq. ft. of training rooms for seminars, user forums, schools, workshops and training sessions. PANalytical welcomed their first visitors recently, as seminars were held for the petroleum and polymer industries.
The PANalytical demonstration laboratory showcases PANalytical’s wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometers, featuring the new Axios system with cost-effective 1 kW operating power, no external cooling required, and the industry’s most advanced XRF X-ray tube, the SST-mAX 50 with CHI-BLUE coating. Also featured will be energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometers, along with other laboratory instruments, calibration standards, software and consumables. Dan Snyder, sales engineer for PANalytical Inc. in the Gulf Coast region, is excited to welcome visitors to this world class facility, and stated “it is great to be co-located with Malvern Instruments – there is opportunity for synergy in the markets that we both serve, particularly petrochemical industries of the Gulf region.”
PANalytical's XRF spectrometers are the industry standard for R&D and process control tasks for quantitative analysis of any petrochemical: from heavy elements in crude oil to additives in lubricants, biofuels, and finished products like gasoline, coke and waxes. In the oil and oil processing industry, XRF is used for elemental and trace element analysis of catalysts, metals and hazardous ingredients in crude oil, as well as analysis of engine performance and wear by determining metallic traces in lubricants. In addition, PANalytical’s XRD systems play an important role in cracking catalyst development and production control, and serve customers in their exploration activities. This further expansion of our already comprehensive customer application support facilities in the USA is an example of our leadership and commitment to the petrochemical community.
