LPG best solution in off-mains areas
Mar 22 2012
LPG provider Calor believe that using liquefied petroleum gas can lead to significant cuts in carbon emissions and fuel savings, labelling it the "cleaner, greener, cheaper solution in off-mains areas."
Replacing old heating systems with LPG could save households a good deal of money and also reduce their carbon footprint. It has recently been proven to be the cleanest fossil fuel in off-mains gas areas by a recent independent report. The report compared LPG with oil, finding that CO2 emissions can be cut by over 22 per cent using liquefied petroleum gas.
Additionally, combing LPG with a CHP unit can lead to carbon savings of over 31 per cent, and energy savings of as much as 50 per cent, according to LPG provider Calor.
Calor's head of innovation Paul Riding said: "People living in off-mains areas can benefit from the same carbon reductions and fuel savings as those in mains areas. By using LPG and integrating it with renewable technologies, homeowners will see some significant savings."
