ASTM International Signs MoU with Eurasian Standards Group

ASTM International has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Eurasian Council on Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC) which represents standards bodies in 12 nations: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Krygyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
The MOU program supports the use of ASTM International standards while also encouraging global participation in the continued development of new and revised standards. The program now has 106 total signatories.
ASTM International’s president, Katharine Morgan, signed the MOU along with Vladimir Chernyak, EASC executive secretary. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to partner with EASC and further expand standards-related collaboration in this exciting region,” said Morgan.
ASTM International also has individual MOUs with the national standards bodies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Russia.
ASTM International’s MOU program was launched in 2001. To date, ASTM International has identified about 7,500 instances of its standards referenced in laws, regulations, codes, and more in countries outside the United States.  For more information on this program, visit www.astm.org/GLOBAL or read ASTM International’s recently-released 2016 Annual Report.
