Flow Level Pressure
Ultrasonic Flowmeter for Offshore Applications
Aug 26 2012
The FLUXUS ADM 8127 flow meter for liquids is FLEXIM's (Germany) solution for explosion hazard environments offshore (being ATEX (IECEx) approved for usage in zones 1 and 2). With a flameproof field-enclosure made entirely of stainless steel, the flow meter is permanently seaspray and seawater proof and can easily be operated by a magnet pen without having to open the housing. Completely identical from the outside, the FLUXUS G801 is its counterpart for non-intrusive gas flow measurement.
The clamp-on flow transducers are not submitted to wear and tear. Whatever is flowing through the pipe – be it sand, stones, cement, etc... – there is absolutely no risk for FLUXUS. Furthermore the measurement is pressure independent. The transducers are quickly installed, without process interruption. Neither maintenance nor pipe work are needed.
The main characteristic of the FLUXUS ADM flowmeters is their flexibility. This is also the case with the 8127. It can be used on pipes made of the most diverse materials with diameters ranging from 10 mm to 6500 mm (1/2" to 250”) and at temperatures between -20 °C (-4 °F) and 120°C (~ 250 °F). Combined with the special mounting fixture WaveInjector, the transducers can even be operated on pipes as hot as 400°C (~ 750 °F).
Non intrusive measurement, high dynamic range, flexibility – these are the well known advantages of FLEXIM's clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement. With the FLUXUS ADM 8127 and G801, they are now also available for offshore applications.
