Flow Level Pressure
Non-intrusive Ultrasonic Flow Measurement of Liquids and Gases
Dec 27 2010
Unusual conditions demand unusual solutions; this is especially true for oil and gas offshore applications. Conventional flow meters often do not meet the requirements of harsh offshore conditions. This maybe because of short equipment life spans, high maintenance costs or unsatisfactory measurement performance.
Whether the fluids flowing through the pipes are liquids or gases, the Fluxus transmitter types ADM 8127 and G 801from Flexim (Germany); along with their sophisticated clamp-on shear- and Lamb wave transducers, are ideally suited for reliable and accurate flow measurement in offshore ATEX Zone 1 areas.
The Fluxus ADM 8127 and G801, together with the Variofix transducer mounting fixture, are seawater resistant and exhibit an extreme mechanical durability.
Due to its advanced transducer and digital signal processing technology, the flow meter accurately measures very low flow velocities as well as high and pulsating flow rates over a wide range. Exotic pipe materials and thick pipe walls are neither a challenge as high or low temperature applications.
Due to the non-intrusive measurement principle, Flexim’s Fluxux ADM 8127 and G 801 can be installed without the need for process shut-downs. As there are no parts protruding into the pipe and the transducers are installed with permanent couplings pads, maintenance work is reduced to an absolute minimum.
