New Fiscal Metering Solution to Deliver Optimum Control for Oil and Gas Custody Transfer

Emerson Process Management introduces the new DanPac™ process acquisition controller system for use with Daniel® oil and gas fiscal flow metering systems engineered and supplied by Emerson. The DanPac single software platform taps the intelligence of field devices, delivering predictive and diagnostic information for a more robust and precise control. The open-standards DanPac has built-in redundancy and comes with completely pre-configured control hardware and standardised components for faster implementation, reduced cost of ownership and increased serviceability via Daniel global life-cycle support capabilities.
The architecture of the DanPac system brings all the elements of advanced measurement and control applications together in one place using open, interoperable and scalable technologies, including a logic controller and Daniel’s S600 flow computer. The logic controller delivers real-time diagnostics and alarms from the skid-mounted PlantWeb® digital components, to streamline maintenance efforts and prevent unexpected shutdowns and measurement variability. Daniel’s S600 flow computer offers reliable and accurate fiscal measurement, giving access to metering performance and advanced measurement analysis reports. In addition, the package features an easy to use HART® interface that supports multiple smart instruments, metering accuracy provers and analytical devices. “The new DanPac system allows easy operator control of Daniel high precision oil and gas custody transfer and fiscal flow metering systems,” said Steve Colella, vice president and general manager of Daniel’s systems business. “Capital and operating expenses are positively impacted using Daniel measurement solutions with the DanPac system, which can provide much greater visibility to the skid systems by using intelligent field instruments with advanced diagnostics and applications embedded in the control hardware.” The process acquisition controller system easily integrates with a broad variety of DCS hosts and SCADA systems to provide metering information. Maintaining traditional solutions requires expensive, limited expertise every time metering conditions change. This new measurement control system delivers a level of sophistication for all Daniel measurement systems which previously could only afford to be used with a few high-return applications. Operator and engineering training is made easy with the DanPac operator training system (OTS). There is no need for costly special hardware training systems as the OTS can fully simulate system configuration and all operator interfaces - along with workstation displays and alarms. The OTS allows operators to train in a secure off-line environment with exactly the same configuration as the online control system.Digital Edition
