The 2018 GCC will be the 115th meeting of the group, 114 times since the late 1950s this group has met to discuss better ways to advance the science of chemical analysis. Along the way this group has found ways to invent and improve upon technology that we all use almost every day. Chemical analysis in one way or another impacts almost every aspect of our lives. From the foods we eat, the fuels we utilise, the clothes we wear, the medications we take, the water we drink, and even to the security we seek, chemical analysis plays a role of immense proportion. By measuring what is known at this moment, comparing to what was known in the past, and then predicting or proving the conditions of the future, we are able to see chemical analysis as more than a curiosity of the alchemist, but as a tool for improving the conditions of our lives and environment.

This same process of taking measure, comparing, and predicting, happens every year at the annual GCC. If you have attended one or more of the last 114 meetings, you have seen the growth and acceptance of ideas, trends, methods, and even companies as the process of business and technological selection takes place. Education and innovation are what this meeting is about!
