UKAS Accredited Flow Calibration Services available for liquid and gas flowmeters
Jul 17 2019
The water flow laboratory expansion from ultra-low flow liquid calibrations from 1 ml/hr on mini coriolis, CMOS sensors and infusion devices comes UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and now extends to 1000 l/min for accredited water meters calibrations and up to 4000 l/min traceable to national standards. The laboratory houses several primary and secondary standard flow rigs covering flow meters from 0.1mm diameter to 150 mm line size which can accommodate turbine, coriolis, ultrasonic, magnetic, wedge, orifice, dP devices and vortex meters with single or multiple outputs for mA, volts, frequency, HART, RS232 or RS485. Customers looking for high accuracy measurement uncertainty are covered for ultra-low flow water flow rate calibrations from 0.1% rising to 0.15% of reading to 1000 l/min. For customers only requiring calibrations traceable to national standards a low cost offering for a 0.5% measurement uncertainty is available for meter flow rates up to 4000 l/min. Complimenting the water gravimetric and transfer standard rigs, are a range of hydrocarbon flowmeter standards for meter calibrations covering 6 mm to 50 mm line sizes on hydraulic oils, fuels and solvents. The oil calibration facility ranges from 1 cc/min to 700 l/min traceable to national standards and 0.4 to 440 l/min UKAS accredited to ISO 17025. All types of meters can be calibrated such as coriolis, turbine, helical screw, oval gear, sprung VA, nutating disc, wedge, orifice and averaging dP. The gas flow laboratory offers four UKAS accredited air flow calibration rigs for the calibration of thermal, laminar, turbine, coriolis, averaging pitot and variable area flow meters from 1 cc/min to 1250 l/sec and up to 300 mm line size. For smaller meter sizes and lower flows, meters can be calibrated on other gases traceable to national standards. A further two high accuracy air velocity calibration rigs are available for the calibration of anemometers, pitot tubes, wind speed devices, kiel probes and isokinetic probes. Offering a UKAS accredited air velocity range of 0.05 to 80 m/s provide a world class leading service for transfer standard anemometers and air velocity probes with a measurement uncertainty from 0.15% of reading. The Young Calibration laboratory (UKAS Lab 0604) provides customers with a cost effective, professional calibration solution for a wide range of air flow, liquid flow, air velocity and pressure instrumentation
